Highlights
Founded in 1992 when England's top-flight clubs broke away to form their own league, the Premier League has become one of the most widely followed football leagues in the world. Manchester United are the competition's most successful club, with thirteen titles, all won under Scottish manager Alex Ferguson between 1993 and 2013.
Manchester City left their mark on the following decade, winning the title four times in a row between 2021 and 2024, an unprecedented feat in the competition's history. Liverpool ended a long wait by winning the title in 2025, before Arsenal claimed their own crown in 2026, after several consecutive seasons finishing runners-up.
The league also remains associated with one of the greatest achievements in English football history: Leicester City's title win in 2016, a club priced at over five thousand to one by bookmakers at the start of the season, who overtook established giants such as Manchester City and Arsenal to claim their only league championship.
